Candy mania

My grandson really likes this app, so I bought the full version for him today. When I tried it, I found it loads a landscape game board into portrait config and cuts off some columns. I unlocked my iPad screen and tried to turn it, but it would not change to landscape. Also tried to make it smaller so the whole screen is visible - no success. Any suggestions?
